An Icicle, Wheat Thins, Vellum And The New Year
Since moving away from the cold North I don’t really have many chances to see icicles, so I was very excited to see this one hanging from our water intake one morning. However, I was afraid of freezing our pump again (which put us out of our van for a day 2 years ago) so I filled our water tank directly using a funnel.
Oh Wheat Thins, oh Wheat Thins, I tweeted about you and you gave me a free box. You know that’s only gonna make me go buy more boxes, I think you do know that and you also know how much I love Wheat Thins.
What a nice Christmas gift our cousin gave me, yup vellum paper, and one hell of a large roll of vellum. This should last me a few years, makes me recall a certain someone (I’m not naming any names) who went on eBay and sent me 1000 pencils, I’m still trying to get thru them. Pencils and paper - what else does this artist need, what else could any artist ever need?

Holidays are over and it’s time to get to work. I am working out a schedule in order to get a few bodies of work done by the end of the year. Time to say goodbye to another year, 2012 has been one hell of a ride. Starting the year off with some of the best shows we ever had, pulling in big numbers and making tons of connections. Canceling 13 shows and missing another 10 to 15 shows because of a huge cancer scare. Putting out our first ever childrens book, which isn’t doing as bad as I thought it would do, people are actually buying it and loving it as much as I do. We haven’t been able to put many miles on our van while being here in Texas but we did manage to escape to Colorado for 3 shows between a few surgeries. We only packed on 9,845 miles to the old van.
However we came up with a new style in our down time and it’s giving me a little break from the grind that is needed to keep up with the dragonfly and butterfly demand my art as become. So now I have time to develop my work into something new and work on several different ideas that I have been kicking around in my head for a while. Plus a complete re-do of our website, this blog and online sales on places like Zazzle and Society 6. You ready? I’m ready.

Nice roundup, Nemo. And, hey good book sales and free Wheat Thins are a nice bonus, eh? :)
Here's to 2013 when we don't do it merely again, but better, gooder, smarter and MORE! :D
