Just A Little Update

So we have been here in our little studio apartment for about 2 months now and we had done 4 art fairs in that time, which were tester shows to see if we could make it on the road.

We are loving our new place and getting out and walking more. There’s a nice farmer's market about a block away and we try to go when we can. There’s also a nice little dead-end street down the alley from me and I try to go a few days outta the week to skateboard. I might be a little to heavy for my ankles but I can still kick flip. Oh and I’m still doing my
workout. I don’t have a scale so I can’t weigh myself but in a few weeks I am going to measure my belly and maybe post a picture, I don’t want to scare ya'll.

As for the shows, we did have some pretty good ones and if we could keep it up we will be doing just fine (a good one being in the 2k to 3k zone). We have many more planned and all of them being in states other then Colorado. Which means? Yes, you guessed it. We are starting our tour real soon. Our last show was July 18th and the next one isn’t until September 4th so on paper I’m on vacation but in real life I’m more busy then I have ever been. I drew an album cover and drew on a new pair of
pants (that was fun stuff), oh and since I had a dream I was wearing a shirt with a girl drawn on it I going to make that happen too. At the last show a couple who brought 2 pieces ordered up a commission of their dogs.
And I’m in the middle of making all my galleries profitable. I’m in a gallery in Wimberley, Texas called Gallery On The Square. This one has always been the little train that could, I get a pay check every now and then. Ever since I have known these guys I have been told landscapes sell well there. Since I've never done landscapes before I put all the blame on me. But my new idea should fix this right up. So I need to kick out about 3 of these suckers quick, we drove around in the mountains the other weekend taking pictures to use. Even got some shots of aspen trees to do since I see them at all the shows up here, I felt like I wanted to take one on too.

Now for the van. Hannah made a comment the other day on one of our walks that getting our van was a lot like us having a kid. We made a decision a while back to get a tour van then we researched and talked to different companies. We put in our order and told everyone about it. Its been about 8 months since then and everyone wants to see our van. We should have had a “van shower”. Both Hannah’s parents and mine cant wait to see it, our brothers and sisters, friends and I know you all cant wait. Well the van has made it into Austin and this Monday morning should be at the place that’s going to finish it out according to the plan she drew up. Its still 6 to 8 weeks away. But we leave Colorado August 31st and hit up a show in Oklahoma City on our way back to Texas. The sad thing is I won’t be able to do everything I wanted to do in Oklahoma but we should be back there soon after leaving since it seems to have a great art community and I have meet many great people online from there.

So the plan is to whittle down all our belongings to the bare minimum and sell off the rest of the stuff we won’t be needing. What to do about our current car is still up in the air. Exciting times are upon us and we are trying hard to enjoy every moment cuz we may never be here again. So I want to thank you all for hanging in there with us on this most crazy journey we are on. Oh and speaking of that, on September 8th this blog will be 2 years old and I’m trying to plan a “best of” blog so I’m reading all my blogs and comments and taking out some of the better parts to share again with you.
